Adventures into Nurseryland

Interactive storytelling and songs for nurseries and EYFS
 

Step into Nurseryland with Imaginellie — a world of rhymes, rhythms, and imagination. Each session blends traditional nursery rhymes with original songs and playful stories. Children don’t just listen — they sing, move, and join the adventure through roleplay, actions, and sounds.

How It Works

Imaginellie comes into your nursery or EYFS setting to lead a playful, interactive session. Each adventure begins with a warm welcome song before we “step into” Nurseryland together.

  • With a funny miming exercise, children help to create the nursery rhyme portal, put on their “adventure boots,” and get ready to enter a magical world.

  • They then meet a familiar nursery rhyme character (like Little Bo Peep or Little Boy Blue), brought to life through performance.

  • Together we sing their rhyme or listen to their story.

  • The adventure unfolds through movement, mime, and sounds — children might become spiders, help find sheep, or imagine the world of the characters.

  • Sessions close with a gentle song to bring everyone back from Nurseryland.

What Children Gain

Through singing, storytelling, and play, children experience:
 

  • Language and rhythm — developing vocabulary, listening skills, and early phonics through songs, rhymes, and repetition (Communication & Language / Literacy)

  • Confidence and creativity — stepping into characters and sharing ideas in a safe, playful space (Personal, Social & Emotional Development / Expressive Arts & Design)

  • Movement and sound — using bodies and voices to explore stories, building coordination and physical expression (Physical Development / Expressive Arts & Design)

  • Imagination and roleplay — experimenting with different roles, problem-solving, and creative thinking (Expressive Arts & Design)

  • A sense of ritual and belonging — through repeated openings and closings (the “portal” and gentle ending), children gain security and structure that supports engagement (PSED)

Practical Information

  • Ages: EYFS & nursery (3–5 years)

  • Format: 30–45 minute session
